Harold Miller started Groucho’s Deli in the 1940s in Columbia, South Carolina, after he moved from Philadelphia. He brought some incredible recipes with him to South Carolina and launched a successful deli that focused on the quality of each sandwich made. The name Groucho comes from comedian Groucho Marx because Harold was said to have looked and talked like Groucho. Today, you can find Groucho’s Deli in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia, and are serving up some amazing sandwiches that have people coming back for more. The location in Statesville is downtown and is a great place to grab a bite to eat when strolling through the downtown area.
