Shangri-La Stone Village

In 1968, at the age of 72, Henry Warren began a project to create a storybook town out of stone from a local quarry. His village contains 27 buildings, such as a school, a church, a theater, a hospital, a mill, and more. The stone paths were also made by Warren and include thousands of arrowheads. Visitors are welcome on the property to explore the stone village, and you may note the plaque reading, “Let me live in the house by the side of the road and be a friend to man.”
