Oak Ridge was incorporated in 1998, but its history is much older than that. The Town is best known as the home of the Oak Ridge Military Academy, which was founded in 1852 (and is still an active military academy today). Like the rest of Guilford County, Oak Ridge has revolutionary war history as well as Quaker roots. We have always found Oak Ridge to be a charming town, and it is conveniently located between Greensboro and Kernersville.
