Badin, NC

Badin, NC, is in Stanly County and is one of the cutest small towns in North Carolina. The history of the town (and the Lake) can be traced to an aluminum company that built a dam on the Pee Dee River to provide power to its aluminum smelter facility (the creation of Badin Lake). Many of the town’s current structures were built during that period (1910s) and are still standing today. It is a fun town to explore, and there are many neat shops to visit. The town is located a short distance from the Morrow Mountain State Park and right next to Badin Lake.
