The Colonel Jack Martin Rock House is a historic property, circa 1770, in Pinnacle, NC. After fighting against the Tories, Jack Martin married Nancy Shipp in 1784, and they raised ten children in the Rock House. The home had four stories, which included a basement with an enormous fireplace, an attic, and three-foot-thick walls made of stucco from seashells. Over time, the Rock House was used as a haven for locals and a rallying point for the militia. The Stokes County Historical Society now supports the home.
