Hollister is an unincorporated community in Halifax County. Hollister is home to the Haliwa-Saponi Indian Tribe and Medoc Mountain State Park. The Haliwa-Saponi Indian Tribe holds a Powwow on the third weekend of April each year, which celebrates when the NC General Assembly formally recognizes the Tribe.
