Attractions – Cary, NC

Cary, North Carolina offers a thoughtful mix of outdoor recreation, cultural institutions, and family-friendly attractions. As one of the largest and most active suburbs in Wake County and the broader Triangle region, Cary’s attractions scene reflects both its established, community-oriented character and its position at the heart of NC’s most dynamic economic region.

The town’s attractions span parks and preserves (including the wonderful Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve, one of the piedmont’s rare pockets of mountain-like habitat), cultural institutions (like the Cary Arts Center and the Page-Walker Arts and History Center), the Downtown Cary Park (a seven-acre park featuring an elevated Skywalk and one of America’s best public playgrounds), and the outdoor concert venue Koka Booth Amphitheatre alongside Symphony Lake. Cary’s signature seasonal event is the North Carolina Chinese Lantern Festival — a major annual draw held each winter at Koka Booth Amphitheater, featuring elaborate handcrafted lanterns and nightly cultural performances.
