Moratock Park is located in Danbury, NC, and has many cool features that make it a great place to visit. One of the features that make Moratock Park unique is the Iron Furnace. The Iron Furnace was built in 1843 and was used on and off until the 1890s. The Furnace is best known as a supplier of swords and munitions to the Confederacy during the Civil War, which resulted in the Furnace’s outbuildings being burned by Union General George Stoneman in 1865. The Park also offers access to the Dan River for river activities during the warmer months.
