Rendezvous Mountain, located in Wilkes County, NC, has a rich history that dates back to the Revolutionary War. Legend has it that the Mountain was the assembly point for the Overmountain Men, who were rallied through an individual blowing an ox horn to fight in the Battle of Kings Mountain. Since 1956, the Rendezvous Mountain area has been a part of the NC Division of Forestry. However, in 2022, a part of the property was turned over to the NC Division of Parks and Recreation. The long-term vision for Rendezvous Mountain is not quite clear to us, but there is a trail that leads to a waterfall and some neat educational exhibits around. The parking area offers incredible views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
