The River Park in Hillsborough has an amazing River Walk system of trails that goes around an Occaneechi Village Replica Site, provides beautiful views of the Eno River, and has even been connected to other trail systems around Hillsborough to allow for access to those other trails. The River Park also features an arch that was created and installed by artist Jonathan Brilliant. The arch is beautiful to see in person and is meaningful to the local community because the wood used to construct it was from a 250-year-old Southern Red Oak that fell during Hurricane Florence (The Calvin Street Tree). This is an easy hike and a great place to relax and enjoy the park’s beauty.
