Tannenbaum Historic Park

One of the many amazing things to explore at the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park is the Tannenbaum Historic Park. The Park features multiple reconstructed buildings from the Revolutionary War Era, allowing your imagination to run wild about how life would have been back then.

The Tannenbaum Historic Park is a recreation of the Hoskin’s Farm. This farm played a significant role in the Battle of Guilford Courthouse. The Hoskin family lived in Pennsylvania near Valley Forge and witnessed firsthand the devastation that war brings for the soldiers and the locals. In an attempt to move away from the war, they picked up and moved south to a spot close to the Guilford Courthouse. Of course, in 1781, the war arrived on their doorstep. Lord Cornwallis formed his lines on the Hoskin’s Farm property after discovering the first American line.
