The Cape Fear Kite Festival is an annual event that marks the final kite-flying event of the professional kite-flying season. These larger-than-life kites fill the sky along the seashore. Locals and guests can find an array of activities associated with the event, such as “Night with Kites,” food trucks, maker’s market, and more. Follow along on Facebook to find updates about the yearly event, including the dates, schedule, maps, and more. We recommend getting there bright and early for good parking and grabbing a spot on the beach before the crowds arrive because this is one of our favorite festivals, and you do not want to miss out.

@thesociableadventurer The 15th Annual Cape Fear Kite Festival just concluded, and it was a blast! We were mesmerized by the massive kites of all shapes, sizes, and fun characters. Some of our favorites included the @BOEING astronaut, @Snoopy kite, stingrays, and the giant whale. Our kids loved learning to fly their own kites too 🪁 @nc.gov @carolinabeachpier @ParadiseIsland @VisitWilmingtonCoast @Visit Wilmington NC @kligskites #kitefest #kitefestival #kitefestival2022 #capefearkitefestival #capefear #kurebeachnc #kurebeachnorthcarolina #kurebeach #carolinabeach #carolinabeachnorthcarolina🌊 #visitnc #flyakite #flyakiteday #beachdayeveryday ♬ Let's Go Fly A Kite (Live) – Charlie Stemp & Adelaide Barham & Gabriel Payne & The Definitive Mary Poppins 2020 Cast Recording Company
