Deep River Trail – Piedmont Environmental Center

The Deep River Trail at the Piedmont Environmental Center in High Point, North Carolina, offers a scenic and enjoyable outdoor experience. This out-and-back trail spans approximately 2.3 miles and follows the natural contours of High Point Lake, providing hikers and runners with beautiful views of the water and surrounding hardwood forests. It is known for its shaded paths under a dense canopy, making it an ideal spot for a run or hike, even on warmer days.

The trail connects to the Bicentennial Greenway, allowing for extended adventures. Please note that the trailheads for the Deep River Trail can only be accessed by walking at least part of the Bicentennial Greenway. We parked in the Piedmont Environmental Center’s parking lot and walked about a mile down the Bicentennial Greenway to reach the nearest Deep River Trail trailhead.
