Julian Price Memorial Park – Green Knob Trail (Sims Pond Overlook)

The Green Knob Trail is located within Julian Price Memorial Park along the Blue Ridge Parkway. This moderately strenuous 2.4-mile loop offers hikers the opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the region. The trail starts at the Sims Pond Overlook at milepost 295.9 and winds through dense rhododendron and old-growth timber, showcasing hemlocks over 41 inches in diameter. Hikers will encounter a climb of about 500 feet in elevation, leading to the summit of Green Knob. From the summit, there is a distant view of Price Lake during the colder months.
