Prison Run Pass Trail – Guilford County Farm

The Prison Run Pass Trail, located at Guilford County Farm near Gibsonville, NC, is a scenic 1.1-mile segment of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail in North Carolina. This trail meanders through a part of the 806-acre former prison farm, which has been transformed into a vibrant passive park managed by Guilford County Parks and Recreation.

Hikers will experience a variety of landscapes, including open fields and woodlands, as well as trails alongside Travis Creek, featuring natural granite slab crossings. The trail offers expansive views of the rolling hills of the Piedmont and the Carolina blue skies, and visitors have the chance to spot local wildlife, such as beavers, deer, and various bird species.

The trail connects to the Preacher’s Pass (Chain Gang Connector), creating a 1.8-mile loop. This provides a tranquil escape that is rich in the area’s agricultural and historical heritage.
