Moratoc Park sits along the Roanoke River in Williamston, North Carolina, covering 18 peaceful acres. Once the site of Williamston’s first wharf, where goods traveled the river, the park has been improved thanks to support from local citizens, Martin County, and state grants. Today, visitors can access the River Landing Boardwalk for river views, as well as fish from the pier, launch canoes and kayaks, or view multiple historic buildings that are just off of the park’s walking trail. Families can use picnic areas and playgrounds surrounded by greenery.
The Moratoc building, located near the Roanoke River and the head of the River Landing Boardwalk, is a rustic conference space with a stone fireplace, full kitchen, large deck, and room for up to 250 guests. It’s a great spot for weddings, meetings, or casual gatherings like pig pickings. Open all year, Moratoc Park offers a quiet place to relax and connect with the area’s history, making it a favorite for both locals and visitors.
