Martin Marietta Park in New Bern, North Carolina, is the city’s newest and largest park, spanning approximately 888 acres on the site of a former limestone quarry donated by the Martin Marietta Corporation. Opened to the public in 2022, the park offers over seven miles of walking and biking trails, an adventure playground, canoe and kayak access to the Neuse River, two fishing piers, picnic shelters, and a Story Walk trail for children. With wheelchair- and stroller-accessible paths, it caters to a diverse range of visitors and supports activities such as birding, fishing, and wildlife observation (we spotted bald eagles, osprey, and herons during our visit).
