The Chelsea, located in historic downtown New Bern, North Carolina, is a beloved restaurant situated in a charming building from 1912 that was once used by Caleb Bradham, the inventor of Pepsi-Cola. The decor within the restaurant pays homage to this rich history. The owners of The Chelsea also acquired the building behind the main restaurant, which has its own fascinating history as the former home of the Atlantic Fire Company. The Chelsea was also featured in Nicholas Sparks’ novel, The Wedding, in 2003.
Renowned for its new American cuisine, the restaurant offers an innovative menu that includes fresh seafood, center-cut beef, and Southern-inspired dishes like shrimp and grits. Guests can enjoy craft cocktails, fine wines, and local beers alongside these delicious offerings.
With a casually upscale bistro atmosphere and an upstairs dining room that overlooks the vibrant streets, The Chelsea has become a favorite spot for both locals and visitors.
