Attractions – Carolina Beach, NC

Carolina Beach has plenty of attractions that show off its classic seaside charm. The main highlight is the Carolina Beach Boardwalk, a lively oceanfront area with arcades, amusement rides, and shops. In the summer, the boardwalk is especially fun with fireworks and live music concerts.

A short drive from the beach, Carolina Beach State Park attracts nature lovers with its scenic hiking trails, marina, and rare carnivorous plants like Venus flytraps that grow along the Flytrap Trail. The Sugar Loaf Trail takes you to a 50-foot sand dune with great views of the Cape Fear River and a fascinating history.

If you enjoy being near the water, Carolina Beach Lake Park is right in the center of town. It has a walking path around the lake, a playground, and lakeside gazebos, making it a peaceful place to relax just a few blocks from the ocean. People who like to fish can book an offshore charter, and there are lots of places for surfing, paddleboarding, and kayaking on the Atlantic and the nearby Intracoastal Waterway.

Freeman Park, at the north end of the island, is another local favorite. Here, you can drive onto the beach, fish, camp, and enjoy a more rugged and less crowded stretch of coastline.
