Stone Mountain State Park – Wolf Rock Trail

Wolf Rock at Stone Mountain State Park is a hidden gem with amazing views of the Blue Ridge Mountain escarpment and the ridges that separate Garden Creek, Widow’s Creek, and Bullhead Creek. The 1.5-mile trail is a moderate hike and a great way to enjoy nature. As you walk, you’ll see how the forest changes from mostly pine to a mix of pine and hardwood, and then to hardwood trees. To create a loop, combine the Wolf Rock Trail with the Cedar Rock Trail for more epic views.

Along the trail, you can spot beautiful overlooks, old logging roads, stone walls, and even the remains of historic buildings in the woods. Wolf Rock is a great place to take a break, have a snack or picnic, and enjoy the peaceful scenery.
