Attractions – Clemmons, NC

Clemmons, NC offers a genuinely singular piece of Forsyth County history and outdoor recreation for visitors — anchored entirely by Tanglewood Park, one of the largest and most historically significant public parks anywhere in the greater Winston-Salem region.

The park’s origin story is genuinely wonderful — Tanglewood was originally the private estate of the Reynolds family, connected to the R.J. Reynolds tobacco heritage that shaped Forsyth County’s modern identity. Forsyth County acquired the property from the Reynolds family in 1951 and established it as a 1,100+ acre public recreational facility along the Yadkin River. Today, the park is one of the premier destinations in the greater Winston-Salem region for hiking, biking, fishing, boating, arboretum exploration, horseback riding, and other outdoor recreation.
