R&D Brewing – Seven Saturdays Taproom

R&D Brewing, founded in 2017 in Raleigh, NC, is the brainchild of a team of beer industry veterans with over 150 years of combined experience. Their passion for innovation and high-quality craft beer guided the brewery’s mission from the start. Initially operating with a 3.5-barrel pilot brewing system, R&D focused on research and development, and quickly gained recognition, winning a Gold Medal for their Bock and a Bronze for their Mexican Lager at the 2018 U.S. Open Beer Championship. The following year, they achieved Silver Medals for their Seven Saturdays IPA and Riviera Lager, along with a Bronze for Remix Fruit IPA.

In February 2022, R&D opened the Seven Saturdays Taproom near downtown Raleigh. This bright, industrial-chic space was designed to foster community engagement and features 16 taps that showcase both core and small-batch brews. R&D Brewing has established a strong local presence through partnerships, becoming the official beer sponsor for the Carolina Hurricanes (with Storm Brew), Wake Forest University (Deacon Brew), Appalachian State University (Mountain Brew), and East Carolina University (Pirates Brew). Additionally, they have co-branded Riviera Lager to support NC State Athletics and its scholarship programs.

Known for their creative collaborations and focus on community, R&D Brewing continues to grow as a cornerstone of Raleigh’s craft beer scene, blending traditional brewing techniques with innovative flavors.
